I always enjoy cooking in someone else's kitchen, but this week was pretty special. Such a great cooking class.
I'm not sure how the food bloggers do it. My hands are always too sticky to take pictures. The meal is lovely and finished, but it's too dark to capture it on film. Or after I've put together the best client dinner I've ever pulled off I think, "Well, crap. I should have taken a picture of that."
But mainly, it's hard to type with a knife in your hand. Maybe, someday, I'll get to posting something interesting.
I made ice cream sandwiches with clients this week. SO. Darn. Good. I made special shortbread cookies, blended vanilla ice cream with a few flavors (plum jam, instant espresso and dulce de leche). It was so much fun, the ladies had a blast.
But I'm reminded that you should make ice cream sandwiches once a week in the summer. Why not? Store bought cookies and a tub of vanilla with some sprinkles is all you need. Kids made enough for their own party. Work fast, have a sheet pan in the freezer ready, make the sammies, coat with sprinkles and freeze them for two hours until they are firm.
